Model lab provides environment in which students in industrial design can make physical models of their designs. This is a new lab established in the framework of the Tempus project.

New equipment in the Model Lab are:

CNC Machine for wood, plastics and aluminium
CAD/CAM Software ArtCAM
Styrocutter, a tool for cutting styrofoam with hot wire
Hand tools

The machine can perform the following operations:

  • Drilling and milling
  • 2D and 3D machining
  • Lettering and engraving
  • Routing and cutting
  • Machining of different parts of furniture

This system is used for producing decorative kitchen panels, doors, 3D models, Plexiglas cutting.

CAD/CAM Software ArtCAM

Software ArtCAM is used for modeling and simulation of the machining process for 2D and 3D decorative features.
ArtCAM is used also to generate the appropriate toolpaths for machining of the part.
